We are a leading Aluminum Distributor, providing a variety of aluminum types and aluminum materials around the world.
Aluminum is the most abundant and one of the most versatile metals in the world. It is extremely strong, yet light-weight, has a high resistance to corrosion, no toxic reaction, high reflectivity to heat and light and maintains excellent electrical and thermal conductivity. The metal has excellent ductility for easy forming and maintains excellent machining qualities.
Aluminum is designated through a four-digit numerical system identifying wrought aluminum and wrought aluminum alloys. The alloy numbers beginning with 1XXX denote a minimum aluminum purity of 99% or greater. Groupings beyond the first are designated by the major alloying elements with 2XXX - copper, 3XXX - manganese, 4XXX – silicon, 5XXX – magnesium, 6XXX magnesium and silicon, 7XXX – zinc and 8XXX – other elements.
All aluminums are designated by temper in the numbering system with five basic categories listed as letters. The letter ‘F’ denotes ‘as fabricated’, “O” is ‘annealed’, “H” is ‘strain-hardened’, “W” is ‘solution heat-treated’ and “T” is ‘thermally treated to produce stable tempers other than “F”, “O” or “H”’. Each basic temper group has subdivisions that further define the specific sequences to the basic treatments.
