316L Stainless Steel

Type 316L is a non-hardenable, non-magnetic extra low carbon stainless steel in an annealed condition that is part of austenitic chromium-nickel family. Slightly magnetic when cold worked and it also has improved corrosion to chlorides and heat resistance, but may be susceptible to chloride stress cracking. Type 316L is quite adaptable for welding, brazing and other short run, high temperature conditions.
